About Nerve Blocks
At Tricity Pain Associates, our pain management specialists strive to deliver personalized, convenient care for all patients in need and take a minimally invasive approach whenever possible. A nerve block is one such solution we offer to help manage severe or chronic nerve pain resulting from a physical injury, arthritis, or the aging process. In some cases, a nerve block may be given to increase patient comfort before or during physical therapy. To perform a nerve block, we inject a numbing agent and/or steroid medication into specific areas of the spine or joints to temporarily prevent the nerves from transmitting pain signals in the neck, back, and other areas throughout the body. This can help to block pain sensation and provide much-needed relief for those suffering from chronic discomfort. Reach out to our South Austin or Round Rock, TX location today to learn more about nerve blocks and to reserve your private consultation.
"I found Dr Kim to be honest and to-the-point. I'm particularly analytical, and I was getting intolerant of the advice and information I was receiving about my injury. Dr. Kim went through every word of my MRI result with me so I had full understanding. He was very matter-of-fact, which is what I wanted. I get the picture he has a very good read on his patients. Fortunately, I did not have to go down the surgical path, on recommendation from Dr.Kim. And I do feel better now."- D.L. / Google / May 10, 2021

"Dr Kim and his staff are compassionate and caring on a level rarely found in this field. Rather than just simply prescribing cookie-cutter pain drugs , he and his team approach the whole individual to positively and effectively develop a plan to manage YOUR pain. He is kind and empathetic and takes the time to get to know you and really treat you- the person. I have felt so much better in the last 6 months than I have in years. Thank you for giving me my hope back that pain is treatable in the RIGHT hands. He and his team are a Blessing . Thanks again for everything you do. I highly recommend him!"- M.F. / Google / May 04, 2021
"The workers at the front desk are super nice and you're never in the waitingroom too long. It's a small office but it's very nice and super clean! I love that they stay covid-ready. Also Doctor Kim and his assistant are super nice! They joke with you and laugh with you unlike most other doctors."- A.M. / Google / Apr 30, 2021
"Dr Kim was awesome! His bedside manner was amazing, he listened, he didn’t just hear, he listened. He explained everything in detail. Thank you Dr Kim for your honesty, compassion, and concerns regarding my situation"- R.D. / Google / Apr 22, 2021
Nerve Block Treatment
Nerve blocks only take a few minutes to administer and are safely provided by our certified physicians at our Austin area practice locations. Once your procedure is complete, you are free to go about your normal daily activities and can generally expect to be able to walk with ease. However, we do recommend that you avoid driving or operating heavy machinery for the remainder of the day and request that you have a friend or family member accompany you to and from your appointment. Nerve blocks can be helpful in providing temporary relief from pain. Depending on your needs, you may require multiple sessions to maintain your pain relief results. Keeping a record of how long your pain relief lasts following a nerve block can assist our team in helping you schedule follow-up treatments as necessary.
